Paulette and her family came in town for a week to celebrate Charlie's first birthday and baptize both kids, Charlie and Sophie. Addison and I were honored to be chosen as Sophie's godparents. Sophie is an amazing little girl who is truly a blessing from God. She had us all laughing with her giggles as the priest poured the water on her head to baptize her. Sophie's autism has her facing many challenges in life that many of us take for granted. As her godparent, I plan to daily pray for her happiness and for her parents that they may have the energy and strength to help Sophie on her journey of life.

I can not believe that Charlie is already 1! He is a handsome, loveable little guy who is excited about the life around him. We wanted to capture a picture of him diving into his cake but he had more fun "hamming it up" for the crowd watching him. He did eventually dig in!

Besides all of the festivities, Paulette and I were able to get the kids together for many playdates. This was the first time Charlie and Charlotte could both sit up and play next to each other so it was really fun to watch their interaction. These pictures below are from the Baptism/Birthday party (we also call it their 3rd date).

My daughter loves giving out kisses, I'm not sure Charlie was as interested! His face is priceless.

Towards the end of the week, Paulette and I were able to escape for a MNO to Superior where we indulged in margaritas and queso! We had a great time talking about the past, present and future. It was nice to have some time JUST the two of us. I miss having my best friend live in the same city as me. Thank goodness we live in world of advanced technology - what did people do before iphones and the internet?
